Mortgages for Company Directors
As a company director, how a lender counts your income can vary considerably. The difference between lenders can be substantial.
How director income is assessed
Many lenders use salary plus dividends, while some will consider your share of retained (net) profit, which can help if you leave profit in the business. The figures usually come from accounts and tax calculations.
This variation means one lender's assessment can be very different from another's.
Preparing
Have your accounts, SA302s and tax-year overviews ready, and be able to explain the company's position. Advice helps identify lenders whose method suits how you pay yourself.

Ask an adviser about your circumstances and a solicitor or tax adviser about legal or tax questions. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
