What 'Whole of Market' Really Means
'Whole of market' means a broker can consider mortgages from across the market, rather than a limited panel. It is a useful signal, but worth understanding precisely.
What it covers
A whole-of-market broker can recommend from a broad range of lenders, unlike a tied adviser (one lender) or a panel broker (a set list). Some direct-only deals are never available through any broker, so no broker literally covers everything.
Ask what range a broker actually considers for your case.
Why it matters
A wider range increases the chance of finding a suitable deal for less common circumstances. Combine it with a clear explanation and a verifiable, authorised firm.

General mortgage information, not a personal recommendation. Lender criteria and scheme rules can change. Ask an adviser about your circumstances and a solicitor or tax adviser about legal or tax questions. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. Most buy-to-let mortgages are not regulated by the FCA.
